Criteria: Scholars are selected based upon academic achievement, capacity to lead, and hours of dedicated community service.

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
Criteria: Any student in grades 5-12 and is a legal resident of one of the 50 states of the United States; has engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred in the last year.
Award: State Honorees receive $1,000 and an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C ; National Honorees receive additional $5,000. BCHS committee will nominate 2 students for state level honors

First Freedom Student Competition
Criteria: This program is open to all U.S. high school students in 9th¢¨12th grade. The First Freedom Student Competition is a national essay and video contest that offers student an opportunity to compete for awards as they examine the history, current importance and relevance of religious freedom in today’s world.

The Professional Athletes Foundation Student Scholarship (Athletic Scholarship)
Criteria: This scholarship is designed for high school student athletes who plan to attend a university, college, or two-year institution that does not provide athletic scholarships. The scholarship rewards high school athletes for their non-athletic achievements and assists them in achieving their career goals.
Eligibility: High school senior with an overall GPA of 2.0 or better and accepted to a 2-year or 4-year college or university. Student must have participated at the varsity level in athletics for at least one year and be nominated by their high school coach. The student has not accepted any scholarship funds or grants to participate in college athletics and is not the son or daughter of a current or former NFL player.

American College Foundation Visionary Scholarship ProgramCriteria: All applications for the American College Foundation (“ACF”) Visionary Scholarship Program will consist of: 1) a completed ACF Visionary Scholarship Application, 2) a copy of the student’s most recent report card, 3) a 500 word, typed, double-spaced essay. All components of the application must be received for a student to be eligible for an award. Applications are judged on the ability to follow guidelines (25%), grammar and punctuation (25%), and the merit of the written essay (50%). Applicants must be United States Citizens or Eligible Non-Citizens and may be asked to participate in a qualification interview as part of the application process to assist the ACF in ultimately determining the winners. Awards range from $1,000 - $5,000 each; with multiple winners to be selected. Each award is a non-renewable, one-time award and is to be used exclusively to offset costs and fees related directly to the student’s first year of higher post-secondary education at an accredited institution of the student’s choosing within the United States.
