Biomedical Engineering uses traditional engineering techniques to solve problems in biology and medicine. The ultimate goal of a Biomedical Engineer is to improve the quality of human health and life.  Students explore how scientists and engineers constantly develop and improve medical devices like stents, pacemakers, prosthetic limbs, and implants.  Students study cutting-edge topics, such as biologically grown tissue replacement. Students also investigate state-of-the-art products like surgical instruments, safety sharps, wound cleaning and sealing, adhesives for bandages, and chemo and radiation treatment.
