Welcome! This year marks my 20th year at Desert Mountain, and I have been teaching for a total of 24 years. Throughout my career, I have taught kindergarten, second grade, and third grade, with third grade being my absolute favorite!

Outside of the classroom, I cherish spending time with my family. I have three children and one grandson, who bring so much joy to my life. We also have the sweetest little dachshund named Spokes, who is funny and playful.

I am passionate about the outdoors and love camping and riding trails in my SXS. Exploring the beautiful landscapes of Arizona is one of my favorite pastimes. Additionally, I enjoy working out at the gym, watching movies, hiking, getting pedicures, and shopping.

In my teaching, I aim to foster a growth mindset in my students. I believe that children who understand that their abilities can improve with effort are better equipped to face challenges and setbacks. I consistently encourage this mindset and praise the process of learning. My goal is to help students find relevance and connections in their learning, promoting ownership by identifying learning goals and success criteria.

I look forward to meeting my new students and their families. Together, we are going to have a fantastic 24-25 school year!
