  • What is TSW?

    The Transition School to Work (TSW) Program, in partnership with Vocational Rehabilitation, assists students with disabilities in the transition process from school into competitive employment and/or post-secondary training and education. 

    The purpose of this program is to help students develop skills they can utilize beyond their high school experience.  A variety of services will be offered to guide the students toward becoming competitively employed and/or enrolled in a post-secondary or vocational program following their exit from high school.  Students may receive the following, but not limited to:  job placement and/or training services, job related instruction, independent living skills training, and assistance with transition planning.  All services are based on individual needs regarding post-secondary goals.

    The Transition School to Work Program is a collective team effort.  The members of the TSW team are:

    • Student
    • TSW Teacher/Coordinator
    • TSW Career Techs
    • Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
    • Parent/Legal Guardian
    • Others

     

    The responsibilities of the students include:

    • Must be a current 好色导航student
    • Must be eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation *
    • Must be an active participant in the Transition School to Work Program
    • Enrolled in TSW Classes as schedule permits to receive all benefits of the program

    *Students qualify for vocational rehabilitation services when they have a documented disability that is a barrier to employment and have been found eligible as a Priority 1 Client

     

    The responsibilities of the school may include:

    • Recruiting students
    • Assessing students with the VR Counselor
    • Developing community relations and supports
    • Monitoring students on the job
    • Providing employability skills through the Transition School to Work (TSW) classes 
    • Facilitating career exploration and transition planning
    • Provide work experience and job shadow opportunities

     

    The responsibilities of the VR Counselor include:

    • Providing career counseling
    • Establishing student eligibility
    • Developing IPE's (Individual Plan for Employment)
    • Providing additional support services
    • Continued services after graduation
