Ms. Burket

Hi Jags!  My name is Allison Burket and I am the SPED Juniors ELA teacher at BCHS.  I am going into my 15th year teaching, and coming from Diamond Canyon where the last 3 years I co-taught in ELA as a 6th-8th grade ELA special education teacher, and also was a 7th grade ELA teacher last year.  I am a full time single mom of an 8th grader (future Jag) and a 5th grader (current Jr. Jag football player). We moved to Anthem in January 2021 and are so grateful to be a part of such a warm and connected community!

I have my Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies and got my career start in foster care and social work. I hold my Masters in Special Education K-12, Masters in Elementary Education K-8, as well as my Masters in Early Childhood Special Education. I am endorsed in ELL and ELA and love to read and write myself. I am a published Christian writer, and also write on a blog. So teaching ELA is truly a passion of mine! I believe in the power of words in us, in the novels and stories we read, and the power of sharing our stories with one another!

I also have a passion for dance. I danced professionally for the NBA , AFL and collegiate level and have also coached and choreographed for collegiate and high school teams. When not teaching, you will find me line dancing, spending time with family and friends, going to my kids sports and doing mom life, working out with my peloton workouts and staying active, listening to country music, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings! Skol!

I am honored to be a part of each and every one of my student's journeys this year and be a BCHS Jag!

The best way to get a hold of me is through email.
