Mr. Trevor Thirsk

Coach Thirsk:

My name is Trevor Thirsk, I have now lived in Arizona for almost 14 years and have spent the last three years teaching PE at Ridge! I began my teaching career at Las Brisas, teaching both 4th and 6th grade science. I was born and raised in Washington State. I attended Washington State University where I met my wife and graduated with a degree in Recreation Administration. Upon graduating college, I lived in Telluride, Co as well as Bend, OR. After getting married, my wife and I moved back to the Seattle area. I worked at the Walt Disney Internet group for several years before deciding that I wanted to work for myself. I became a Real Estate Broker and started my own construction/remodeling business. While running my own businesses, I was also able to be a stay-at-home dad with my two girls. It was through working in their classrooms that I found a passion for teaching. 15 years ago I began my Masters in Elementary Education program. During this time, we decided to make a big move and left Seattle for Arizona in November of 2011. I enjoy working at Mountain Ridge and having the opportunity to help build a successful and productive Physical Education department in which all students are challenged and successful.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family. My girls will be going into the 12th grade at Boulder Creek and my oldest will be a Junior at University of Arizona! I also enjoy spending time on the golf course and I am an avid fly fishermen. I grew up playing sports including baseball, basketball, soccer, football and skiing. I have also spent over 12 years working in the NBA, I started as a ball boy for the Seattle Sonics when I was 11 years old, and spent breaks in college working for various teams throughout the league. Most recently, I am the Varsity boys basketball assistant coach at Boulder Creek High School.
