• What is Math 180?

Math 180 is a computer-based program to teach foundational math skills to students who are not performing at grade level. Between direct instruction in class and the self-paced online curriculum, students develop math competencies required to graduate. The class is an elective in direct support of Algebra 1-2. Assignments and assessments are generated from both the Math 180 program and teacher-made materials.

Grading is incorporated automatically from the Math 180 software, however the teacher is responsible to ensure term and semester grades reflect your student’s progress toward math standards.

    How to Succeed

Your student will attend every session, on time and ready to learn, both from my lessons and the online program on the HMH Ed platform. They will complete their Math Minute bell work, take notes on teacher instruction, progress through the computerized Math 180 work, and pass my exams.

Appropriate student behavior is described in the student handbook, and all school expectations will be consistently enforced in the Math 180 classroom.

    Required Materials

A charged Chromebook indicates a student ready to work in class. Without the Chromebook (or a charged battery), none of the success criteria described above are possible. In addition, pencils and loose-leaf notebook paper are necessary for taking notes and as scratch paper for solving problems.

    Absences

Students who are absent for multiple days must keep up with the current unit coursework from home.
