Katie has been in education for almost 10 years. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from NAU. She taught abroad in Asuncion Paraguay for one year. She then taught kindergarten for one year and first grade for two years. Katie decided she wanted to do something more specialized in education so she went back to school to become a TVI and received her Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Visual Impairments from the U of A. She has been a TVI in Deer Valley for four and a half years. 

Katie has a desire to help empower her students to achieve their goals both academically and personally. She strives to encourage her students to try new things and step out of their comfort zones so that they can reach their full potential. She wants her students to feel supported and to know that they have someone on their side that will help them access their education. 

In her free time Katie enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two young daughters. Katie has a daughter with a disability so she is passionate about special education. This has become a driving factor in making sure she is the biggest advocate to help her students at 好色导航be as successful as possible.
