I am excited about being the new 8th Grade ELA teacher at Terramar.  I have already had the pleasure of meeting some of you, as I worked as a substitute at Terramar during the previous school year and I was able to see what an awesome community Terramar is.  This will be my fourth year teaching ELA.  I received my Bachelor's and Graduate degrees from Northern Arizona University.  I have also completed graduate coursework at San Diego State University.  I consider myself a lifelong learner and am always looking for ways to learn new things and grow as a teacher.

A little about me. . .

I grew up in Deer Valley Unified and am the daughter of a retired Deer Valley ELA teacher.  Shortly after graduating from NAU I married my husband and we moved to San Diego.  We started a family in San Diego and lived there for eighteen years before returning to Arizona to be closer to family.  I have a son in college and my daughter attends O'Connor.  We are a busy sports family, hockey and softball. So I wouldn't really say I have a lot of free time.  If I do have free time, I enjoy cooking and baking, and reading, of course.  We adopted a puppy this summer; his name is Gus.  We also have a seven-year-old black Lab named Charlie.
