Welcome!

  • My goal this year is for students to understand that art and the arts are here for everyone.

    Not every person will become a professional artist, but everyone should understand how visual art is made and just how much "work" goes into "artwork."

    Students will learn the tools and techniques that artists have access to, how context is important in understanding art, and how to talk about art with confidence.

    The arts have given us movies, stories, fashions, architecture, and snapshots of life through human history. 

    Art creates beauty in people's everyday lives.

    Art helps people work through sadness, pain, or troubles.

    Art creates joy.

    I hope that I can share my appreciation and love of visual arts with students this year so that they can understand just how powerful and impactful art can be in the world.
