Welcome Mountain Shadows Coyotes! My name is Ms. von Tobel and I will be your child’s teacher this year. This is my 24th year of teaching! I have been teaching fourth grade at Mountain Shadows for the last 10 years. I taught third grade for 13 years at Desert Heights Charter School in Glendale before moving to the Deer Valley School District.

I am a graduate of Arizona State University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in December of 2000. I was born, raised, and educated in Brownsville, Texas, “a city on the border by the sea”, next to South Padre Island. I moved to Arizona in 1989.

I have an older daughter who had her first child last year, so I am now a grandma! :) I have two adorable Shih-Tzu/Poodle dogs, Bubba (15yrs) and Sully (13yrs). I enjoy hiking, camping, fishing and spending time with my family. 

I am looking forward to a successful year with my students!
