• Classroom Expectations, Rewards, and Consequences

Village Meadows Elementary School uses positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) to promote school safety and good behavior. With PBIS, students will learn about behavior expectations throughout the campus and classroom using the S.E.A.S (Safe, Engage, Accountable, Self-Control) Matrix.

On top of the school rules, rewards, and consequences, I also have a clip chart and multiple ways to be recognized for good behavior. When clipping up, students will receive a ticket towards prize box and opportunities for positive notes home. The class will also receive recognition when they earn compliments out and around campus.

Students will receive a verbal warning with a practice opportunity before clipping down. The next step would be clipping down. The first clip down is a documented warning. The second clipdown is a loss of recess and behavior report sent home. The third clip down is a phone call home.

*Severity Clause- If the student's behavior is unsafe or is a serious disruption such as fighting, destroying property, or severe deviance, they will be referred to the office. The parent will be contacted.

It is expected that parents will be checking and signing student agendas nightly.
