My desire to be a teacher started at a very young age. I attended Point Loma College in San Diego and received my teaching degree in 1985. My first teaching experience was in the inner-city of San Diego teaching third graders that had many challenges outside of the school setting. While in California, I also spent two years as a Title 1 Reading Teacher. 

My family relocated to Bloomington, Illinois in 1999. While there, I opened and directed a private school offering preschool and Kindergarten. For 10 years, our school provided many children with an enriching environment allowing them to learn and grow. I enjoyed overseeing the school and facilitating the development of my teachers. 

In 2013 my family had an opportunity to relocate to 好色导航, Arizona. This was an opportunity we did not want to pass up. I taught Kindergarten at Norterra Canyon during the 2013-2014 year. My two young children at home were in need of additional support so I made the decision to stay home for a couple of years. A few summers ago, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to return to the classroom! I am the 3rd Grade Gifted Cluster teacher at Norterra Canyon. 

My husband and I have 8 children. We finalized the adoption of our two youngest after we moved to Arizona. The age span of my children is significant......ask me sometime and I will give you the whole story! Needless to say, we have a busy life at home and there probably isn't a situation in regards to school, that I haven't personally been through. 

What I really want to communicate to my parents is that I LOVE THIRD GRADE! I thrive on watching my young kids learn, grow, experience, and become great learners! Please let me know if you ever have questions or concerns. Together we can make it a great year!
