• Every year 好色导航 Sister Cities, Inc. selects High School sophomores and juniors to participate in an experience of a lifetime! Students travel during June of each year to one of our TEN Sister Cities, serving as a Youth Ambassador.   As a Youth Ambassador, students become part of a global community, learn about different cultures, make great friends from around the world, and participate in a life-changing experience! 

     
    The Arizona State University Cesar E. Chavez Leadership Institute is a high-energy leadership program for sophomores and juniors. Selected students participate in a one week program at ASU in the summer in workshops and activities exploring higher education, leadership development and community engagement while living on the ASU campus.     The Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Program’s mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. The Arizona Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar (HOBY) will be held this summer. BGHS may nominate sophomores to attend the seminar.

    The Governor's Office of Youth, Faith and Family is searching for inspiring youth leaders from Arizona High Schools to serve on the Governor's Youth Commission (GYC). Students must be a sophomore, junior, or senior next school year. Details and application at:  
     
    The Smithsonian Latino Center offers the Young Ambassadors Program for high school seniors with a commitment to the arts, sciences, or humanities as it pertains to Latino communities. The program is a week-long, all-expenses paid training and leadership seminar with a four-week internship and $2000 program stipend. More information and apply at:  
     
    The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, Inc. offers R2L NextGen for Latino students who are juniors in high school the opportunity to spend five days in Washington, D.C. this summer, learning about how the Federal Government works, meeting important leaders, visiting historic sites and developing a deeper understanding of how they can affect positive change in their communities and nation.     Boys/Girls State provides citizenship training for juniors in high school. It affords the students the opportunity to live together as self-governing citizens by teaching them about the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of American citizenship. Delegates will study and practice Arizona State government throughout the week.  See Mrs. Romero in the Counseling Office if you are interested in becoming a Boys/Girls State Delegate. 
     
     
    The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards recognize students who have made meaningful contribution to their communities through community service. BGHS may nominate 1 student to receive this award and $1000. Apply at or
