Welcome Back Leopard Families!
My name is Christina Salazar and this is my 14th year in education, and my fourth year as a full-time member of the 4th-grade team. 4th grade is my favorite grade and I am over the moon excited to share in your child's educational journey.
In regards to my career; I spent the first 10 years supporting students with various disabilities, first in the Alhambra School District and then Deer Valley, as a special education teacher. In 2019 I became part of the 4th grade team and have not looked back. I firmly believe 4th grade is the best grade level to be part of. I love being a teacher and it is the dream job I always hoped to have; seriously, I am in my favorite place.
I am a born and raised Arizona native and can't imagine living anywhere else. I love the sun and our calm winters. I attended elementary school in the Washington School District and completed high school in the Glendale Union High School District where I was in a wide variety of activities all four years. I received my bachelor's degree from Arizona State University, specifically with a dual certificate in elementary education and special education, in 2009. I am a Sun Devil through and through, always Go Devils!
Personally, my husband and I have been married for over 12 years, and he is also an Arizona native. Our family also consists of four individually fantastic children. Samantha is 11, a 6th-grader here at Legend Springs, Michael will be 10 in November and is also a Leopard in 4th grade. Number 3 is JJ (Jimmy Jr) and he is 6, and also a leopard in first grade. The youngest of our crowd is Anthony, who 4 and is a perfect final piece to our puzzle. He is starting pre-kindergarten on campus as well! Pets are another part of our family; two rescued dogs that are pure "mutts", Vegas and Diego; they are basically two more children to Mr. Salazar and me. Vegas is 12 and Diego is 11. There are a lot of happenings in our home, so loud, crazy and constantly going is a normal part of our life. We are usually found at some field or theatre somewhere with our children watching them find their joys.
Our family can be found spending our free time with our extended family doing whatever sounds good at the moment. We love to travel, go to the beach, and enjoy movies. As a family, we are big sports fans of all teams Arizona; the Cardinals, and 好色导航 Suns are who we are always routing for! If our weekends aren't involving sports in some way, then it isn't the weekend.
