Meet Mrs. Davis

  • Mrs. Jeannie Davis LOVES helping to build strong, independent readers.  She has taught 1st and 2nd grade and has been a literacy intervention specialist at Terramar since it opened in 2002. Mrs. Davis earned her bachelor of arts from Grand Canyon University and a master’s degree from Arizona State University. She holds both a reading certificate and early childhood endorsement.  In 2018, Mrs. Davis was recognized as one of Deer Valley Unified School Districts’ Teacher of the Year, but her favorite part of teaching is seeing smart learners become successful, thinking readers. Mrs. Davis loves to see former students continue their learning as proficient readers through their years at Terramar, high school and beyond.

Mrs. Davis has been married for 33 years. She and her husband have a daughter living in Colorado, who is a mechanical engineer. She is working in a start-up environmental/aerospace company.  Our daughter is a product of Deer Valley Schools and is a thoughtful, inquisite young lady. She is an advid reader of course. Mrs. Davis and her husband have a 9-year-old bouvier named Sammie and a three-year-old golden retriever, Mia.  When not teaching, Mrs. Davis enjoys time with family and friends, walking, hiking, traveling, and of course reading.

      "We love stories about cats!"
