    School Psychologists support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach by applying their expertise in mental health, learning and behavior. The goal of a school psychologist is to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally and emotionally by partnering with families, teachers, school administrators and other professionals to create a safe, healthy, inclusive and supportive learning environment. Below are some examples of what School Psychologists do:

    • Promote student motivation and engagement  
    • Conduct psycho-educational evaluation 
    • Provide individualized intervention recommendations and support

    • Provide strategies for creating positive classroom environments to support engagement and learning
    • Provide culturally responsive services for students and families from diverse backgrounds

     Strengthen Family-School Partnerships

    • Help families understand their child's learning and mental health needs
    • Assist in navigating the special education process
    • Enhance staff understanding and responsiveness to the needs of diverse learners
