A Little About Me!

  • Hello and welcome to the Reading Room!  My name is Kristina Arnold and I have been an educator for 26 years.  I graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a degree in Sociology in 1992.  I then moved to Arizona where I earned my post-Bach degree in Elementary Education and later my Masters Degree in Elementary Education.  I also have endorsements in both Early Childhood Education and, of course, Reading.  All of my classroom teaching experience includes kinder, first, and second grades and  I earned the title of Deer Valley Teacher of the Year during the 2013-2014 school year.  Teaching kiddos to become engaged, thoughtful readers is my passion!  On a more personal note, I have been married to a wonderful man for 28 years...his name is Scott, or affectionately known as "Mr. Arnold" to my students. The kiddos will hear a lot of stories this year about my two "children" named Cookie and Chester.  They are, in my opinion, the cutest kitties on the planet. When not at school, I love to be outside as much as possible.  I love to hike and ride horses...in fact, I have a lovely horse named Nash and I can often be found at the barn after school and on the weekends!  I hope that this lets you all know a little about me...I look forward to getting to know all of you this year!
