Ms. Annie Craig
Hello! I am Annie Craig (Miss Annie to your students), the General Music teacher here at Vista Peak. I am so excited to be able to provide a music learning experience that is fun for all of my students.
A little background information about myself. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in instrumental music education from the University of Arizona (Go Cats!), and a Master of Science degree in instrumental music education and instrumental conducting from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. I was a high school band director in Las Vegas, NV where I earned Teacher of the Year honors, and was also a performer and manager of a professional symphony orchestra in Texas, where I lived on my horse ranch, raising and showing American Quarter Horses.
I was proud to be awarded the Deer Valley Unified School District DVEF Teacher of the Year award 2022-23. It was an incredible honor to be chosen from among the very talented teachers district wide for this recognition, and I am proud to represent Vista Peak and our outstanding students and staff.
It was also an honor for me to achieve National Board Teacher's Certification, which is held by approximately 3% of teachers nationwide. This was achieved through my teaching here at Vista Peak with your wonderful students, and allowed me to showcase and reflect on my teaching and music program here. Again, an honor that I am proud to share with both students and staff at Vista Peak, now and in the future.
When I am not teaching music, you can find me riding my horse Shad or out hiking on many of the beautiful mountain trails in the 好色导航 area. I also enjoy QiGong (which is like yoga and tai chi combined), working out, spending time with my friends, and cheering on my favorite sports teams, like the Arizona Wildcat football and basketball teams, the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Stars hockey, and many others.
Most of all, I feel very fortunate to work here with everyone at this amazing school, and look forward to making music with all of the wonderful children here at Vista Peak!
