    ***EVERY project requiring information gathering, must be done using academic and scholarly sources.  好色导航recommends using the Digital Arizona Library (DAZL).

     

    ***EVERY project done using information, images, video, or music must contain a Works Cited page.  For information on how to set up a Works Cited page click .

     

    Norterra Canyon uses MLA and APA formats.  Please be sure to check with your teacher regarding their required citation format.

     

    If your source does not provide a citation, you may use one of these online citation tools:

     

     

     

    NOTE-MAKING

    When using information, document that source at the beginning of your research.  Make notes (in your own words) on what you have read.  Use note-making cards to keep your notes and sources together.

       (open and make your own copy, then rename it and move it to your own folder)

    8th Grade  

              IN: Students working on research-3 academic and scholarly sources for healthy body, 3 academic and scholarly sources for healthy mind.  Write 2 paragraphs for each topic.  What can I do to improve my physical health?  What can I do to improve my mental (emotional) health?

              UP:  Students are using the career they chose last year to make a budget which fits into the salary.  They will divide the salary by 12 months, then find monthly living expenses for the area they have chosen to live.  They will document the websites they use to find their expenses.

             OUT:  Students will research using a minimum of 3 academic and scholarly sources.  Their research will address different service organizations focusing on people, animals, and/or the environment.  Students will write a minimum of 5 paragraphs describing organizations that interest them, and then choose one that would be the best fit their core interests.

    7th Grade

             IN: Students working on research-2 academic and scholarly sources for healthy body, 2 academic and scholarly sources for healthy mind.  Write 1 paragraph for each topic.  What can I do to improve my physical health?  What can I do to improve my mental (emotional) health?

             OUT:  Students will research using a minimum of 3 academic and scholarly sources.  Their research will address different service organizations focusing on people, animals, and/or the environment.  Students will write a minimum of 3 paragraphs describing a PHOENIX organization that interest them and allows minors to volunteer.  They need to include how to contact that organization to volunteer, what the requirements are (including any age restrictions,) and what the work includes.  

    6th Grade

             IN: Students working on research-2 academic and scholarly sources for healthy body, 2 academic and scholarly sources for healthy mind.  Write 1 paragraph for each topic.  What can I do to improve my physical health?  What can I do to improve my mental (emotional) health?

              UP:  Students working on research-minimum of 2 academic and scholarly sources for how to acheive their future goal.  Write a minimum of 3 paragraphs with a minimum of 3 pieces of evidence.

             OUT:  Students will research using a minimum of 3 academic and scholarly sources.  Their research will address different service organizations focusing on people, animals, and/or the environment.  Students will write a minimum of 3 paragraphs describing organizations that interest them, and then choose one that would be the best fit their core interests.
