• Speech and Debate

  • Speech and debate is a very fun and intense club that requires a significant amount of time outside of school and outside of our club meetings to be prepared and successful. You will make lifelong friends, get skills that are really important for the real world and possibly earn awards, scholarships, and graduation regalia.

To be eligible to compete in tournaments, you must have a judge that is willing to donate their time to be both trained and participate in some of the tournaments throughout the semester. Your judge will not have to be there every time you compete, but in order to spread out the obligation, honor everyone's time, and make sure we can enter, everyone who would like to participate will need a judge.

We meet after school every Thursday. You should plan to attend most, if not all, of the meetings. This is how you will get information on what to do, practice with the team, and make friends. If you need to miss a meeting, that is fine. If you need to miss every meeting, that is not going to be fine. If you have any concerns about meeting time, please speak with Mrs. Jewett in E211.
