Mrs. Katherine (Katie) Brown
Hello! I cannot wait to partner with you and your child for this coming year. As a dual-certified teacher, I have 20 years of teaching experience in general and special education classrooms and working with gifted students. I hold National Board Certification in the area of Exceptional Needs Specialist. I firmly believe that every child has great potential to learn and that it is my job to help find the motivation to help them be successful.
I am fortunate to have two children of my own, a 9th grade girl and a son who graduated from high school last spring. I understand the challenges and rewards of being a parent of a special-needs child as my son has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
When I get the opportunity, I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs, painting, writing, reading, hiking, and salsa dancing.
