Miss Viviana Martinez

Hello! Viviana Martinez here!

I currently teach ELA 1-2 and IB 7-8, bringing a diverse and rich curriculum to my students. I have been dedicated to this profession for 3.5 years. Though it hasn't been long, each day brings new opportunities to inspire and be inspired by my students.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis on English from Northern Arizona University. My journey in education didn't stop there. I furthered my expertise by earning a Master's degree in Multilingual Education from Arizona State University. This advanced degree has equipped me with the skills to support and engage students from diverse linguistic backgrounds, ensuring that every student feels valued and capable of achieving their highest potential.

Originally from California, I moved to Arizona for college, and I was captivated by the educational opportunities and community here, leading me to pursue my teaching career in this vibrant state. Arizona has become my home, and I am committed to contributing to its educational landscape.

My teaching philosophy centers around the belief that education is not just about imparting knowledge but also about building strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families. I believe that when students feel understood and supported, they are more likely to thrive academically and personally. Creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and encouraged to express themselves is at the core of my teaching practice. In my ELA and IB classes, I strive to make literature and language arts come alive, connecting the material to my students' experiences and interests. I am dedicated to helping students develop critical thinking skills, a love for reading, and the ability to express themselves effectively. Beyond the classroom, I am an advocate for collaboration and community building. I work closely with colleagues to share best practices and create a supportive network for professional growth. Engaging with families and understanding their perspectives helps me to create a more inclusive and responsive educational experience for my students.

I am honored to be part of my students' educational journeys and am continually inspired by their resilience, creativity, and potential. My goal is to make a lasting positive impact on their lives and to help shape a future generation of thoughtful, informed, and compassionate individuals.
