• Students will learn to be learners while having engaging opportunities to follow directions, take turns, and socialize with their peers. We expect students to learn to listen to instructions from adults like "clean up time," and "time to come to carpet." We will teach sharing, kindness, respect for other's personal space and belongings, being responsible and being safe. During instruction time at the carpet, we will reinforce eyes watching, ears listening, voices quiet and bodies calm. We have a lot of time for fun and games and hands on activities and free choice, but with a classroom full of small, active children, we do have rules to keep everyone safe and the learning to a maximum. We use positive reinforcement for appropriate behaviors and sometimes, time away in a thinking area, if needed. So far we are having an amazing time and the students have really learned our classroom expectations.
