Hello, my name is Philip Velie. This will be my 8th year of teaching, all of which has been at the 6th grade level. I love teaching 6th grade students and I am a big history and social studies nerd myself. I graduated with my bachelors degree in Accounting and then went back and earned my Masters of Art in Teaching with a 6-12 grade focus. I am highly qualified in Social Studies and also have my SEI endorsement for working with students whose primary language differs from English.

I have been married for 7 years and have 2 awesome sons, Oliver and Elijah. Oliver is 2 and a half. He loves dinosaurs and asks, "what is that right there" to learn everything about the world around him. Elijah is nearly 3 months old and is learning to use his gross motor skills to navigate the world around himself and speaks his own baby language for now.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and getting to share and teach what I am passionate about with others and I look forward to getting to know and teach all of your children.
