Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to an exciting new school year! My name is Kristen Herb, and I am thrilled to be your fourth-grade teacher. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a little bit about me.

I was born and raised right here in Arizona and grew up in the Deer Valley Unified School District, just like you! I have two amazing kiddos who also attend Mirage Elementary. We are a proud Mirage family!

In addition to teaching, I have a bustling cattle ranch where I care for cows, horses, and pigs. Our ranch is also home to chickens, a tortoise, a bearded dragon, cats, and dogs. You name it, I’ve probably had it as a pet!

I have been teaching for 14 years, covering grades from Kindergarten through 6th grade, and I must say, fourth grade is my absolute favorite! I graduated from ASU and earned my Master’s Degree from NAU. 

When I'm not in the classroom or on the ranch, I love spending time with my family, enjoying the beautiful desert, and embracing my cowgirl spirit. I am also a huge fan of country music, Starbucks coffee, and all things purple. You might often find me shopping at Walmart, Target, or browsing on Amazon. Mexican food is another favorite of mine.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year filled with learning, growth, and fun. I can't wait to get to know each of you and your families better. Here’s to a wonderful school year together!
