Mrs. Odom
My name is Sherri Odom and I teach Second Grade at Constitution. I graduated from ASU and have lived in Arizona all my life. I am married, have 5 children and 8 grandchildren. Teaching has always been a passion of mine. My experience as a parent provided me new insight into teaching. I believe my ability to reason with students whom have behavior problems, listen to the students when they talk, and to have students feel success in their life allows me to make a difference.
My teaching style is one of patience, consistency, and allowing students take responsibility for their learning. Classroom ownership and a sense of community encourages students to focus on their learning. I believe trust and clear expectations creates an environment where students feel safe and therefore can learn.
Students learn quickly to speak respectfully, be responsible, and help everyone stay safe, which is the culture of our classroom. Teacher-Parent communication is always opened so that the student is supported by both at school and at home, working to impact the student’s learning to their highest potential.
