    Coach Tewers:

Hello Sunset Ridge Hawks! My name is Jessica Tewers, aka as Coach Tewers.  I taught First Grade for 13 years, (11 of them at Sunset Ridge) and then moved into PE 5 years ago.  I have been at Sunset Ridge for a total of 16 years.  I absolutely love teaching PE and making connections with so many students on campus.

I have lived in Arizona most of my life, moving here when I was 8 years old. I have always known I wanted to be an Elementary school teacher and graduated from ASU West with my Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood. I started my teaching career at Park Meadows (2 years) and moved to Sunset Ridge, where I found my second home. I got my Physical Education endorsement 5 years ago and have enjoyed my move to PE over the last 5 years.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Mickee, and our three boys, Brody, Troy & Nixon. Brody and Troy play baseball at a very high competative level and Nixon enjoys playing club basketball.  So we are always at a game or practice. They keep us very busy after school and on the weekends.

I also coach volleyball here at Sunset Ridge and at Liberty High School.

I am looking forward to this new adventure with Sunset Ridge students, where I can help them be challenged and successful with Physical Education.

    Mrs. Michelle Bodily

Hi my name is Michelle Bodily, this will be my 2nd year at Sunset Ridge. This year I will be teaching STEM class for 5th-8th grade and PE for Kinder-4th grade.

I was born and raised in Utah and attended Salt Lake Community College where I played soccer. After earning my Associate’s Degree I transferred to Utah State University for my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, majoring in Physical Education with minors in Psychology and Health. I have recently added my Elementary PE Endorsement. I taught high school PE in Illinois for 4 years before taking a 12 year break to be a mom. While teaching I also coached boys and girls soccer, and after moving to Arizona in 2010, I coached girls’ soccer at Deer Valley High School for another 4 years.

I have been married to my husband for 23 years, we have 2 daughters Leah (in highschool) and Kenzie that have attended Sunset Ridge since kindergarten. Some of the things I enjoy in my spare time are sports (playing and watching), escape rooms, camping, traveling, playing the drums and watching a good movie.

I am excited to teach PE and STEM and to help students at Sunset Ridge gain confidence in themselves.
