Curriculum

  • At Paseo Hills Preschool we follow the Early Learning Standards through the Arizona Department of Education.

    Statement of Purpose
The Arizona Early Learning Standards have been developed to provide a framework for the planning of quality learning experiences for all children 3 to 5 years of age.  The standards cover a broad range of skill development and provide a useful instructional foundation for children from diverse backgrounds and with diverse abilities.  The standards are intended for use by all those who work with young children in any early care and education setting in urban, rural, and tribal communities.

We are excited to share with our students The Creative Curriculum for Early Education.

The philosophy behind our curriculum is that young children learn best by doing.  Learning isn't just repeating what someone else says; it requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn firsthand about the world we live in.

The most important goal of our early childhood  curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners.  This means encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts.  Our goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners.

We also implement in our classroom the Color Me Healthy Curriculum.

The focus is teaching children about food, nutrition, exercise and proper hand washing.  All our snacks are balanced nutrition and are served family style with the children serving themselves.  We encourage the children to try new healthy foods and provide a monthly news letter to parents.
