• Symptoms of COVID-19    

     

    **If your child tests positive for COVID-19, please inform the School Nurse by calling 623-376-3310.**

      Symptoms of COVID-19 may appear 2-14 days after initial exposure to the virus. Some of the symptoms that may be experienced are:

                          *Fever or Chills (Temperature over 100.0)                                     *New Loss of Taste or Smell

                          *Cough                                                                                                *Sore Throat

                          *Shortness of Breath                                                                        *Congestion or Runny Nose

                          *Fatigue                                                                                              *Nausea or Vomiting

                          *Muscle or Body Aches                                                                     *Diarrhea

                       *Headache

       **Please check with your child every morning before they leave for school to see if they are demonstrating or complaining of the above symptoms. If they are, please do not send them to school.  Please do not give them any fever reducing medicine (like Tylenol or Motrin) and send them to school. Please keep your child home and call the School Nurse to inform her of your child's symptoms and also contact the Attendance Line notifying them of your child's absence. **

        **If your child or someone is having worsening symptoms, difficulty breathing, persistent pain or pressure in their chest, new signs of confusion or you are unable to arouse/awaken them, or they have bluish colored face or lips....CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY!!  These are signs of a medical emergency!!!

     

     

    How to Prevent the Virus from Spreading

     

    *Avoid sharing personal items

    *Wear a facemask

    *Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after

    coughing/sneezing/blowing your nose, eating, using the restroom

    *Use Hand Sanitizer if soap and water are not available

    *Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth

    *Avoid close contact with people who are sick

    *Stay home when you are sick

    *Cover your cough or sneeze 

    *Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

    *Maintain social distancing
