Welcome, Inspiration Mountain Knights!

I look forward to another school year here at Inspiration Mountain.  It is my goal to explore new adventures in reading and writing, while setting goals based on students' strengths and weaknesses.  We will take reading to a more in-depth level this school year.  We have taken a big jump from learning to read and and switch gears to reading to learning.       

Experience

This will be my 11th year of teaching in Deer Valley Unified School District.  I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor's in Science, with a Dual Emphasis in Special and Elementary Education.  I began my teaching journey at Park Meadows (Title 1), where I taught K-6 specialized instruction for a few years, entered into the third grade classroom with a dual supportive roll, and then had the opportunity to loop up into 4th grade with my students teaching "ALL" students.  I continued my journey in 4th grade again at Terramar, teaching Reading, Writing, & Social Studies.  When the opportunity arose to work at Inspiration Mountain and open a new school, I couldn't have been more excited!  This is the area which I have lived in for over 23 years and I have raised my sons here.  

About Me

Michigan is where I was born and raised!  I moved to Arizona over 29 years ago where I met my husband, and raised our 3 sons.  I'm proud to say that I have an N.A.U. Lumberjack and an A.S.U Sun Devil graduate in the family!  I am a Grandmother as well!  Family is extremely important to me.  In our free time we love to explore while mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and even taking camping adventures.  A couple of years ago, we became "empty nesters" and decided to add a couple of additions to our little family.  We are happily raising 2 standard Australian Shepherds who now also share our love of natura and exploration!  Most recently we moved to an acre of land where we will explore additional hobbies in the future!
