Dear Students and Parents,

My name is Miss Alkhori (Al-kory), I am the 7th grade English Language Arts teacher at Desert Sky Middle School and I am so grateful and excited to begin this journey with you all. 

I am originally from Chicago, IL and was raised right here in Glendale, AZ. I recieved my Bachelors from Arizona State University and have recently graduated with my Masters in Secondary Education Humanities at Grand Canyon University. Before becoming a teacher, I worked with children ages 3-12 and then went on to become a Substitute Teacher for the Deer Valley and Peoria District.

My approach to teaching is centered on developing a supportive and welcoming classroom community where every student is given the opportunity to feel important and appreciated. In terms of effort, involvement, and behavior, I have high expectations of each student. I am certain that, with hard work and determination, every student can reach their full potential. 

Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, going out with friends, working out, and traveling. I look forward to learning more about your child's interests as well. 

I am so excited to meet all of you and cannot wait to create a memorable experience together!
