Hi! I'm Mr. Merkin, and I started at DVHS in 2024 (so this is my first year here). I grew up in Westmont, IL (about 45 min west of Chicago), which also makes 2024 my first year in Arizona! I student taught at Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, IL and The Eastbourne Academy in Eastbourne, England, before I graduated with a bachelor's degree in history & social science education from Illinois State University in May of 2023. Before moving to Deer Valley, I taught English and Social Studies with Crete-Monee High School's Bridges to Success Program.
