Mr. Jeffrey Malone

Jeffrey Malone is the incoming Director of Bands for Mountain Ridge High School in the Deer Valley Unified School District. In this capacity, he will direct the Pride of the West Marching Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Jazz Band.

Prior to this new appointment, for the past six years, Mr. Malone served as the Director of Bands and Arts Department Chair at Peoria High School in the Peoria Unified School District. At Peoria High School, he directed the Panther Pride Marching Band, Panther Jazz Band, and Peoria High School Wind Ensemble. Under his recent direction, the Panther Band Program performed in the 2022 National Memorial Day Parade and as a featured ensemble at the 2024 Arizona Music Educators Association Conference. They are also two-time recipients of the esteemed William E. Richardson Program of Distinction Award, presented through the Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association (ABODA), earning this distinction for the 2021-2022 and 2023-2024 school year.

Beyond his service at Mountain Ridge and Peoria High School, Mr. Malone is active in his leadership across the state of Arizona. He has previously served as the Region Co-Chair for the AMEA Central Region Honor Band, PUSD High School Honor Band Coordinator, and was a member of the PUSD Arts Advisory Committee. Currently, he serves as the ABODA Vice President of Jazz Activities and is on the teaching faculty for the Arizona Leadership Conference.

Jeffrey Malone holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Arizona and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Music Education through Central Washington University and the American Band College. He resides in Glendale, Arizona with wife, Abby Malone.
