I’m looking forward to an exciting year teaching third grade at Canyon Springs.  I am honored to be part of this

community of excellence!  I received a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education from NAU, and am currently working toward the completion of my reading endorsement.  I have taught both 2nd and 3rd grade. I have a wonderful husband and two phenomenal  sons. The oldest is a former Renaissance student here at Canyon Springs and graduated from Boulder Creek and is in his 2nd year of college. The youngest has attended Canyon Springs, kindergarten-8th grade kindergarten and is currently attending Boulder Creek High School. I look forward to working with my students and their families this year at Canyon Springs.

It is my goal to provide a learning environment that encourages all students to think critically, develop problem-solving skills, and to feel confident in their learning while growing to their full potential. I want to take students at different levels and see them develop together for the advancement of each individual. Therefore, group work is the key to having a successful class and is something I value. The impact of group work, when students help fellow students, changes each person and transforms the atmosphere of the class as a whole. In my classroom, I want students to have freedom that allows for expression and creativity. Students should be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and to realize their strengths and weaknesses. After this base is developed, the curriculum can be molded to tie in each student’s learning style.

Again, I am looking forward to helping your child grow academically and socially.
