    Testing will occur three times a year, Fall, Spring, and Summer.

    • KINDERGARTEN: Unavailable

    • GRADE 2: Unavailable
    • GRADES 3 - 8, 9+: CogAT
    • Unfortunately, late registration cannot be accepted.

    How Does a Student Qualify for the Program?

    In Deer Valley, we provide gifted services along a continuum that spans grades PreK thru 12. Gifted identified students are those who score at the 97th percentile (or higher) on a state-approved gifted assessment in one or more areas: Verbal, Quantitative, and Nonverbal. These students are placed in a Gifted Cluster Classroom. Gifted identified learners may be placed into one (or more) of our specialized programs (i.e. - SAGE, SPARK, Walk-Up Math).

     

    In addition, students who score at 94th - 96th percentile may be placed in one of our specialized, content replacement programs (i.e. - SAGE, SPARK, Walk-Up Math). These students are commonly referred to as "Talent Pool" learners because (while not gifted identified) they possess tremendous capabilities that deserve to be nurtured.

     

    Deer Valley offers full-day programs for highly gifted learners (Renaissance). Students are eligible to apply for Renaissance whey they achieve a combined score of 280 (or higher) on a state-approved gifted assessment.

     

    All gifted test scores must be reviewed and approved by the Manager of Gifted Service prior to student placement.
