Periods 2 & 3 Workshop 3: Interim Assessment- 9/11/24. We have finished reading The Lottery, by Shirley Jackson. Students are identifying the Plot of the story and finding details to make connections to the conflict. We have been discussing Dystopian Fiction along with the elements of literacy. I
Periods 4 & 5 Workshop 1: TIDE Informative Essay due 9/11/24. We have been reading about activists who have won the Nobel Peace Prize. Students have been reading about standing up for human rights and the lives of activists, such as Malala. We will focus on the following skills: vocabulary development, central idea and details, analyzing text, Theme of a story, & writing formats- TREE- Topic sentence, reason/s, evidence, ending. We are in the second half of workshop 1.
