As  a Chief Science Officer, I get a chance to experience and learn STEM related careers. On February 27th, the CSOs and I went to Maricopa Air Quality. The first thing we did was rotate in stations to see all the neat equipment they use to test the air quality in the Maricopa County and learn about all the jobs that are available, just for air quality! One of the stations had a big truck that had equipment all over it to test the ozone and how much dust was in the air. Another station explained a job you can pursue relating to air quality. You can go to all different places to test how much dust they are putting out into the air. At the end, we collaborated without peers to talk about our action plans for the remaining of the school year. - Zoe Miller, 7th Grade

  • At the Maricopa County Air Quality control I learned about the quality of Air, and how to prevent the air quality from becoming harmful to all living things. I had a great time learning about all of the different jobs that are involved with Maricopa County to make sure we have a clean air. I was in the Particulate Gorup. In that group I learned about particles in the air that are harmful to our health. The people who are involved in this kind of matter  go around and inspect different places to see if they are following regulations. I had a great time learning about air quality at the Maricopa County Air Quality control.- Logan Juncaj, 8th Grade
