• monkey My name is Jeff Lyons and this will be my 28th year as a teacher, 17th year as a Sierra Verde Viper, and my 19th year in the Deer Valley Unified School District.  Prior to coming to Deer Valley USD, I spent five years teaching in the Alhambra Elementary School District, and then I taught for 4 years, overseas in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.  I taught at an international school that catered to foreign diplomats and people who worked in the business community.  Tashkent sits in the heart of Central Asia and on the ancient "Silk Road."  While there, my family and I had the opportunity to explore fascinating old cities and learn about various cultures.  While I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and gained a wealth of knowledge, I am happy to be living in the Valley, and especially happy to be a Sierra Verde Viper.
