Mrs. Koontz

Hi Everyone!

I graduated with Honors in 2016 from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor's in Natural Science with a minor in Environmental Science, and another Bachelor's in Education.

This is my 4th year teaching Earth Science here at Boulder, and this is my 8th year teaching Earth Science I started teaching. I love Earth Science, and I'd like to think I am pretty good at it.

I have a wonderful husband, and an absolutely adorable son who is one! They are always up for adventuring with me.

We love the outdoors (shocking for a science teacher, right?) and are always travelling all over the state/country doing hikes, visiting National Parks, and experiencing all the awesome geologic features that this planet has. My two favorite hikes in Arizona are the Tonto Natural Bridge State Park in Pine, and the Lava Tube Hike in Flagstaff. The lava tube hike is a completely underground cave formed from an ancient lava flow from one of the many dormant cinder cone volcanoes in the area. Tonto Natural bridge is a limestone 'bridge' that has formed from years and years of water erosion. So Cool!
