• Children of any age are more successful when they know what is going to happen.  This is true for classroom routines and redirecting challenging behaviors.

    • A consistent schedule and routine.  Changes may occur, but children/families will be informed.
    • Rules will be established and talked about in small parts, so the children understand boundaries.
    • Toddlers will have reasonable expectations with the freedom to explore independence, but have the support of a teacher when needed.
    • Choices will be offered to all students throughout the day.
    • The classroom has a cozy area for personal space and calming down with the assistance of a teacher, if needed.
    • If children are having a difficult time, the teachers will acknowledge and support a child's feelings and give the child words to use during a social conflict, then practice those words as much as needed.

In my experience, these are some good methods to ensure a smooth and fun school day!
