SAGE Reading Grades are based on the following:Literary Analysis/ Book ConnectionsDiscussions/ClassworkVocabulary/Grammar tasksGen ed reading tasksPlease note: Although writing is integrated within the SAGE program, students will receive writing instruction (skills) from their homeroom teachers. The reading grade on the report card will reflect work done in SAGE and the writing grade will reflect work done by the homeroom teacher.
Classwork 20% Assessment 80%The third book review is due Thursday Nov 14. Students are to choose a book from the list, read, and bring that book to class on Thursday Nov 14 to write their book review. Monday: Veterans' Day no school
Tuesday: Chapters 13-15 reading response due. This was assigned Thursday 11/7. Students will discuss key ideas in chapters 13-15 of The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle.
Wednesday: Students will review the literary device of symbolism and summerize the purpose in chapters 13-15 of The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle.Thursday: Students will complete their 3rd book review.Friday: 5th grade STEAM day no SAGE reading class. 6th graders will continue work on picture mystery.AZ Merit ELA performance level descriptors used for SAGE reading rubrics.
